An Alternative Country song that I wrote to address a couple of the trials we face in life....Divorce, War and Loss. The title Ain't Life Grand is more a sarcastic way that someone might use to describe how these things affected them.
The song starts out showing both sides of a divorce in a minimal but still meaningful way and then moves on to a Baby being born while it's Father is away at war. The Mother dies in childbirth and the Father gets a call to tell him of his new Son and the loss of his Wife. As he is having to deal with this happy and tragic information, he is pulled back into the war.
This tune is more of an album cut instead of a single, based on the fact that is a little over 6 minutes long but I kept it the way it was because i could not bear to cut it up into something smaller and less meaningful.
