This song is about putting the past behind you and moving forward. Things from the past have a way of staying with you throughout the course of your life but dwelling on them only holds you back.
I wrote this from my own point of view and about things that have been a part of my own life but at the same time it is written from an outside view of things. The message here is not to block things out from the past but to deal with them and move along to better things.
As a fan of Jimi Hendrix, I also did the music in a style similar to that of his because I have always appreciated his guitar style on songs like Castle's Made of Sand and Little Wing.
This was simply a one take acoustic demo that I am offering up on the New Perspective EP and in lieu of the final version of the song that will be on the final album.
