The song Right By My Side was one of many that I recorded in one take for this album while both playing guitar and singing. The original recording came out to over 7 minutes long because of the musical intro. Because of this I decided to cut part of the intro and make it into a Prelude Instrumental Track so that the main song would be in a shorter version. This is the Prelude that goes together with the rest of the song on the next track to make for one long album version when listened to in that order.
This intro to Right By My Side is slower and filled with a magical sense of mood that I think compliments the main song quite well. Listened to by itself you might expect it to fade out at the end more but being that it is really a a part of the whose song it does not.
I am as much of a Guitar Player as I am a Singer and Songwriter and so naturally I was interested in expressing that on the album whenever it fit into the mix of things. To me, my Guitar is just as important of a voice as my own when it comes to songwriting.
